Free in Music: From Baroque to Jazz

The Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra and the Áron Tálas Trio

Just as jazz in the 20th century, Baroque music heralded a new world in musical form and harmony in the 17th. This event is a meeting of these two “musical terminals”, with minute-by-minute jumps in the world of music of almost 300 years. Áron Tálas’ jazz improvisations bravely reinterpret Baroque harmonies, forms, and moods. The Budapest Philharmonic Society’s orchestra is celebrating its 170th anniversary this year, with its excellent soloists performing at this one-of-a-kind concert. In addition to double concertos for violin and flute, two virtuoso tuba players will also be given a special role, which will guarantee a unique musical experience.

The audience will have the chance to delight in unique musical meetings as well as blends of Baroque and jazz genres, and styles and harmonies in Várkert Bazár’s Foundry Courtyard.
