On the first Sunday of Advent, the band Lóci játszik will be putting on a one-of-a-kind concert in the Riding Hall in Buda Castle Palace District, accompanied by a string quartet and a children’s choir, to create a unique atmosphere. The band, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, was founded by its namesake frontman, Lóci Csorba, when he composed his first film score. To mark this milestone year, the band is thrilled to bring fans together in celebration of the unforgettable journey they have shared.
"In the period of Advent preparations, it is the soul which truly guides us”, declared the band’s frontman. On 1 December, Lóci játszik will make this already significant year even more memorable with a truly extraordinary concert. Their songs will be brought to life acoustically, enriched by the glorious harmonies of a string quartet. In a unique arrangement and stage interpretation ideally suited to the venue, violinist Izsák Farkas will elevate the band’s performance to new levels.
The festive concert will also showcase the strength of the Lóci játszik community spirit, as the band will support the Superar children’s choir through a special auction at this holiday performance. An exhibition of selected photographs from the past ten years will be on display at the venue. The photos will be available for purchase, with the proceeds helping the band support further musical experiences for the choir members attending the concert.
The signature "Lóci-style" concert atmosphere will be just as vibrant as ever, but on this occasion, “our spirits will be decorated festively, the songs will don their Christmas outfits, and together we will begin the Advent season at a magnificent venue”, as Lóci put it. He added that if the stars align, a new vinyl record titled “Best of” will also be released in time for the concert.

What is sabrage?
Sabrage is a traditional champagne-opening method that originated among the hussars serving in the French army, who were renowned for their courage and distinctive style. This technique later on spread to important events and military celebrations as well, becoming a symbol of elegance and spectacle. During sabrage, the neck of a champagne bottle is struck off with a special sabrage sword or blade. This practice originally became popular among the French hussars in the 19th century due to its spectacular display coupled with its refined presentation.
