“The way she looks, the way she walks…” – Fifty minutes of banging, contemporary mulatós party music.
Free event at Castle Garden Festival
Some love it, others loathe it – but mulatós party music is an inescapable feature of everyday life in Hungary. Weddings, balls, birthdays – its catchy melodies are never far away. BALL brings this phenomenon to the stage – through a fresh, contemporary lens.
This production dissects the genre, turns it inside out and reimagines it, combining it with the throbbing, layered textures of electronic music. The goal? To set party music free, and let it meet other forms of living musical culture. The performance is a reminder that tradition is not just a memory of the past, but a living, ever-evolving cultural reality.
The production is realised as part of the Staféta programme announced by the Municipality of Budapest Capital City.
The production is made possible with the support of the National Cultural Fund of Hungary.
