Visitor Regulations

 

The purpose of these Visitor Regulations (hereinafter: the Regulations) is to define the expected standards of conduct for all persons present at the Castle Garden Bazaar (including visitors and other users), as well as the basic regulations necessary to ensure the high-quality delivery of cultural programmes. In order to ensure that all guests may enjoy their visit without disturbance, we expect all staff and visitors to observe the norms of respectful and considerate behaviour in a shared public environment.


Scope of the Regulations
These Regulations apply to all visitors and staff entering the premises of the Castle Garden Bazaar. All facilities are visited at the individual’s own responsibility.

Opening Hours
Opening hours vary across different areas of the Castle Garden Bazaar:
South Palaces: 10am–5:30pm Tuesday–Sunday
Tourist Info Point and Ticket Office: 10am–5:30pm every day
Palace of the Guards: 10am–5:30pm Tuesday–Sunday
Neo-Renaissance Garden: 6am–Midnight every day

Purchasing Tickets
Entry to performances, events and exhibitions is permitted with a valid ticket. Exceptions may apply to free events or those requiring prior registration. Free programmes may be visited up to the capacity of the given venue, on a first-come, first-served basis. In compliance with fire safety regulations, host staff will restrict further entry once the permitted capacity has been reached.

Tickets for performances may be purchased online at varkertbazar.jegy.hu, jegy.hu and related pages, in person at INTERTICKET Kft. partner ticket offices, at the Castle Garden Bazaar ticket offices, and Tourist and Information Points. If tickets are purchased through channels other than those listed above, the Castle Garden Bazaar cannot guarantee that the ticket entitles entry to the event. Information on the method and deadline for ticket refunds will be communicated by the Castle Garden Bazaar via its official Facebook page and website.

Online Ticket Purchase
Online tickets may be purchased via varkertbazar.jegy.hu (accessible via the “Online tickets” tab on our website), as well as via jegy.hu and its subpages. Please print the downloaded PDF file received via e-mail, or make it accessible on a mobile phone or tablet upon entry. Payment Methods
At the Castle Garden Bazaar ticket office and Tourist and Info Point, payment may be made by: cash, bank card, SZÉP card (leisure sub-account). Please consult our website or ticket offices for available discounts. To claim discounts, valid proof of eligibility and photo identification must be presented.

Press Admission
Press tickets may be requested via sajto@varkertbazar.hu no later than 2 days prior to the visit, indicating the media outlet represented. All requests are assessed on an individual basis. A 50% discounted press ticket for exhibitions may be purchased upon presentation of a press card.

Ticket Refunds Due to Cancellation of Own Events 
For events organised by the Castle Garden Bazaar, tickets purchased online are refunded by INTERTICKET Kft. Tickets purchased at ticket offices may be refunded at the Castle Garden Bazaar ticket offices until the date specified in the official announcement. Tickets may only be refunded in the case of cancelled performances.

Ticket Refunds Due to Cancellation of External Events 
In the event of the cancellation of events not organised by the Castle Garden Bazaar (hosted events), information regarding ticket refunds is provided by the event organiser on their own website, and may also be obtained directly from the organiser via the contact details indicated on the ticket.

Admission
Health and safety regulations in force at the time of the visit, as well as any governmental recommendations, must be observed. The Várkapitányság (Castle Headquarters) organisation Nonprofit Zrt. reserves the right to introduce stricter measures if necessary. All programmes are assigned age recommendations. Attendance at performances intended for adults is not recommended for children under school age (under 6 years). For children’s programmes, visitors are requested to observe the indicated age guidelines.

Events starting after 10pm may only be attended by persons aged 18 and over.

The operator, Várkapitányság (Castle Headquarters) organisation, reserves the right to deviate from the above in justified cases, with prior notice published on the varkertbazar.hu website.

Late Arrivals
Tickets guarantee reserved seating until the start of the performance. In order to ensure the uninterrupted course of the performance, latecomers may not always be admitted. This will be indicated in advance on our online platforms.

Regulations for Own Outdoor Events in the Case of Bad Weather
In the case of bad weather, the Castle Garden Bazaar will issue a notice of cancellation no later than 3 hours before the performance on its website and Facebook page. If no notice is issued, the Castle Garden Bazaar intends to hold the performance. If necessary, the start of the performance may be delayed. The Castle Garden Bazaar reserves the right to cancel the performance on site or interrupt an already started performance and resume it later after the rain.

In the case of cancellation, tickets remain valid for the designated rain date indicated in the event description. If a rain date is scheduled, tickets cannot be refunded. If a performance is interrupted after at least 35 minutes due to weather conditions, it shall be considered as held. If the performance is also cancelled on the rain date, tickets cannot be refunded on the day of the cancelled performance. Information on refunds will be provided in an official announcement by the Castle Garden Bazaar.

Right to Make Changes 
The Castle Garden Bazaar reserves the right to change the date, venue or performers of events, or to cancel events. Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged, whether purchased in person or online, except in the case of cancellation. Tickets cannot be refunded in the case of late arrival or non-attendance. Lost, destroyed or damaged tickets cannot be replaced. Where necessary for the optimal execution of a performance, the Castle Garden Bazaar reserves the right to reassign seats, provided a seat in a higher price category is offered to the spectators concerned. In such cases, spectators will be informed of potential seat reassignments prior to the performance.

Use of the Building
Attendance at performances intended for adults is not recommended for children under school age (under 6 years). Age recommendations must also be observed for children’s programmes. If a child disrupts a performance intended for adults through behaviour or noise, staff may request the child and the accompanying adult to leave the auditorium. Visitors are required to use the premises of the Castle Garden Bazaar in accordance with their intended purpose, to keep the environment tidy, and to protect and use properly the equipment, furnishings and the building itself in accordance with the applicable regulations.

In the event of an extraordinary situation (e.g. natural disaster, fire, bomb alert, etc.), visitors must strictly follow the instructions of the staff of the Castle Garden Bazaar. Food and drink, as well as objects that obstruct seating or emergency exits (e.g. prams, scooters, large instruments), are not permitted in event or exhibition spaces.

Smoking is prohibited in all the buildings of the Castle Garden Bazaar. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. At public events accessible to all under equal conditions, crowd recordings may be made in which visitors may be captured. In such recordings, individuals are not depicted separately; rather, the recording reflects the overall impression of events taking place in public. Accordingly, visitors may not assert any claims against Várkapitányság Nonprofit Zrt. in connection with such recordings.

Any image or audio recording beyond crowd recordings may only be made with the visitor’s explicit, voluntary and duly informed prior consent, given either in writing or by conduct. The provisions governing such consent and the related data processing are set out in the data protection notice applicable to the given event and made available to visitors. Publication of such recordings likewise requires the visitor’s explicit and voluntary consent. The making of image and audio recordings is not permitted at our events. For photography in exhibitions, please enquire at our ticket offices.

Sale of Goods
The sale or distribution of products on the premises of the Castle Garden Bazaar, whether related to programmes or not, is prohibited without prior permission. Please contact us at rendezveny@varkertbazar.hu to agree any details.

Assistance Dogs
Visitors accompanied by certified assistance dogs may attend programmes free of charge with a registration ticket (subject to availability of designated seating). The handler of the assistance dog may complete personal registration at the ticket offices and information points of the Várkert Bazár, or by e-mail at infopoint@varkertbazar.hu. During registration, the handler must present an official certificate issued by the Hungarian Association of Therapy and Assistance Dogs. Upon attending the programme, Castle Garden Bazaar staff will verify that the assistance dog is equipped with the appropriate identifying marking (the logo of the training organisation must be displayed on the harness, scarf, or on the collar in the form of a tag).

The handler of the assistance dog is responsible for the dog’s behaviour throughout the entire duration of the programme. The owner must ensure that the dog does not endanger either people or other animals by biting. In public areas, dogs must be kept on a lead. The use of a muzzle is not mandatory for assistance dogs.

Cloakroom
Use of the cloakroom is recommended for performances and is mandatory for exhibitions. The service is free of charge. Our staff members remain present in the cloakroom throughout the performances, so visitors may leave their valuables there in safety. Cloakrooms remain open for 30 minutes after the end of performances.
Loss of a cloakroom token incurs a fee of HUF 5,000.

Accidents
In the event of any danger or accident, please notify a member of the Castle Garden Bazaar security staff immediately. In the event of an emergency (e.g. natural disaster, fire, bomb alert), visitors must follow staff instructions.

All persons are required to take all reasonable measures to protect their own life and physical integrity, as well as that of others, and to safeguard the property of others and of the Castle Garden Bazaar, including its buildings, furnishings and equipment, and to avoid causing any danger thereto. Throughout the entire area of the Castle Garden Bazaar, any activity beyond the intended use of the premises, as well as any commercial activity, may only be carried out with the prior written permission of the Castle Garden Bazaar. Instructions issued by the staff of the Castle Garden Bazaar are binding on all visitors.

These constitute the rules of the Visitor Regulations. Visitors who violate these Regulations may, following a warning, be temporarily or permanently excluded from the premises, and official proceedings may be initiated against them. Any damage resulting from a breach of the Visitor Regulations shall be borne by the person in breach or by the person responsible for them. If the breach of the Regulations also constitutes a violation of law, the person concerned shall bear full legal responsibility and any applicable legal sanctions.
