Castle Garden Bazaar presents the final performance of its unique in-house literary dance production, More About Ourselves, featuring the Grecsó brothers. This evening blurs the lines between a literary stage event and a theatrical, musical, and dance performance.
The show’s core is formed in distinctive prose by the Grecsó brothers, fresh poetry, family stories and anecdotes, transformed into a theatrical experience through improvisational jazz music, spontaneous contemporary ballet, and Zoltán Grecsó’s unmistakable movements. The dialogue between literature and music is unique each evening, yet the distinct rhythm of the responses, the ethereal interplay of light and space, and the structured transitions between art forms provide a tightly woven cohesive framework to the performance. The ironic rivalry between the siblings, along with the playful jabs expressed through dance and literary language, help viewers relate, as they create situations to mirror a family that bring their own identities into the spotlight. The More About Ourselves evening is a sincere, confessional and distinctly personal event that fully harnesses the artistry and openness of the Grecsó brothers.
