The Modern Art Orchestra celebrates its 20th anniversary with a grand gala concert on December 28 at the Castle Garden Bazaar.
Exactly twenty years after the ensemble first appeared before an audience on December 28, 2005 at the Thália Theatre, they now return to the stage on the very same day to celebrate two decades of shared musical experiences. The special evening highlights the defining moments of the orchestra’s past twenty years, as well as the outstanding soloists with whom the MAO has helped shape both Hungarian and international musical life.
The festive program recalls the ensemble’s interpretations of Bartók, Kodály, Liszt, and Ligeti, along with the songs and compositions connected to the featured soloists. These works have uniquely blended classical tradition with the modern musical world throughout the past years.
Guest artists of the evening:
Veronika Harcsa – vocals
Kriszta Pocsai – vocals
Franciska Törőcsik – vocals
László Gőz – bass trumpet
Miklós Lukács – cimbalom
László Dés – saxophone
Andy Middleton (USA) – saxophone
László Fassang – organ
An unforgettable festive concert where twenty years of shared creation and the remarkable meeting of the orchestra and its soloists come together to enchant the audience.
