The duo Kiss Tibi és az Aranyakkord was founded by Tibi Kiss (of Quimby) and Gábor Vastag (of A Kutya Vacsorája) on a foggy January day in 2018. Sitting side by side with guitars in their hands, they realized they had just formed a new band.
Kiss Tibi és az Aranyakkord is an experimental workshop, a songwriting incubator, a playful exploration of music and lyrics. Their sound blends a unique psychedelic acoustic atmosphere, a Rock’n’Roll reserve, a kind of musical séance characterized equally by dusty street romance and ethereal chimes.
The two friends and longtime collaborators have been writing songs together for more than a decade for film scores and other projects, with Vastag having produced several Quimby albums as well. Regular guest Gábor Andor “UFO” joined the duo, enriching their performances with his magical percussion. Their concerts evoke the intimacy of chamber music, creating an atmosphere where the audience can get closer to the roots of the songs. In addition to their own material, their shows feature improvisations, songs from their wider body of work, and covers of their personal favorites.
Since its formation, Aranyakkord has played numerous concerts in Hungary and performed several times across Europe and overseas.
