The music of Jumping Matt and His Combo is rooted in the blues but goes far beyond genre boundaries. Elements of swing, boogie-woogie and rock and roll blend with soul, jazz and funky flavours, brought to life in an energetic, improvisational live performance. The band’s frontman, Pribojszki Mátyás, is a widely respected harmonica player, singer and songwriter across Europe, having performed on stages in more than thirty countries. He has not only added a distinctive voice to the Hungarian blues scene, but also reaches audiences who might not usually be drawn to the genre. Active for over twenty years, the band is a regular presence at international blues and jazz festivals and has released seven studio albums to date. Two of their records – My Stories (2016) and Dressed Up (2018) – were included in the American list The Top 200 Blues Albums of the Past 20 Years, making them the only Hungarian band to achieve this recognition. Their most recent album, Forward, received significant international attention from the music press in both Europe and the United States.
