HUNCLORIQUE - Boggie & Petruska

What happens when two richly diverse musical worlds meet at the deepest roots of folk music?

Award-winning singer-songwriter Boggie, recipient of both the Fonogram and Hangvilla Awards, and Petruska, one of the most original figures in the Hungarian guitar scene, have been captivated by music since childhood. Although their artistic journeys have been shaped by a wide range of influences, Hungarian folk music holds a special place in both of their hearts. Their joint project, HUNCLORIQUE, was inspired by the First Eurasian Festival in South Korea in 2023, where they represented Hungary and achieved outstanding success.

The programme is built around some of the most beautiful Hungarian love ballads and lament songs. Boggie's expressive vocals and Petruska's virtuosic fingerpicking guitar style create an acoustic soundscape that feels both contemporary and timeless. The arrangements, centred on two vocal lines, boldly reinterpret traditional folk motifs while preserving their original power and authenticity.

This production offers a bold contemporary interpretation of Hungarian culture, demonstrating that the timeless messages of our folk songs can still resonate deeply in a 21st-century urban environment.
