Today’s man, who dreams of a world and a life different from those of the masses, wears clothes and masks to overcome the obstacles of everyday life, and tries to make the world around him a better place, at least by condemning its decline. But he is a lonely person, a madman in the eyes of many, who has been marginalized. The contemporary Don Quixote is a man who has been deceived and disappointed: once a sarcastic and carefree dreamer, he is transformed into a tragic character.
Sancho Panza provides the basis for the story of the knight errant, but the performance is about the courage that one needs to fight against disappointment that we all face when encountering reality. Nowadays, man is going through a cruel vision of reality in which there is no room for imagination, fantasy, expectations, or to carry out an existing project he could identify with. Life forces us to make unusual compromises, and endure defeats and sorrows all the time, but with a little bit of idealism, all madmen can be wiser than they can imagine, and despite all appearances, they can discover their true essence:their existence.
