George Gershwin (Brooklyn, New York, 26 September 1898 – Beverly Hills, 11 July 1937) was an American composer and pianist whose works spanned popular music, jazz, and classical genres. Drawing on American folk influences, Gershwin remains one of the 20th century’s most iconic composers. The Budapest Jazz Orchestra has selected works from the composer – born 127 years ago – including the iconic Rhapsody in Blue, performed here by outstanding jazz pianist Richárd Révész in a new arrangement by Zoltán Zakar, tailored for the orchestra. Also taking to the stage is the velvet-voiced jazz singer Orsi Urbán, who brings her trademark ease and charm to beloved jazz classics (Summertime, S’Wonderful, Lady Be Good, and more).
Conductor: Dénes Marcell Worowski
Featuring:
Orsi Urbán – vocals
Richárd Révész – piano
