Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the renovation of the Castle Garden Bazaar with the jubilee cultural season at our VárkertFeszt (“Castle Garden Fest”) arts festival from 31 May to 2 June. The three-day programme series will feature exhilarating family events, electrifying concerts, literary programmes, guided tours, workshops and special gastronomic surprises for young and old in the Castle Garden Bazaar. Explore the complex on the Buda side of the Danube, once one of the world's most endangered monuments, but now a bustling cultural hub again, adorned with a unique Neo-Renaissance garden making it a true gem of Budapest.

On 2 June the Castle Garden Fest will draw to a close with a concert by the Besh o droM band, featuring János Másik as a guest. The formation of Besh o droM is the answer to a question that has never been asked. Seemingly mismatched musical styles were interwoven by seemingly mismatched individuals with feverish eagerness and impatience. Two and a half decades have passed since that fateful date, but the music has never allowed itself to become predictable, monotonous, or middle of the road. Instead, Besh o droM has evolved into a style and a trademark. Their name has become synonymous with a frenetic rhythm and melodic cavalcade of virtuosic instruments and has always guaranteed an enraptured audience dancing the night away. Their enthusiasm knows no bounds; they don't hesitate to crack a musical joke, boldly mixing musical cocktails and seemingly mismatched flavours in a way that captivates unsuspecting tasters time and time again, leaving them begging for more.

Twenty-five years may not be an eternity, but it's a great feeling to know that a generation has grown up for whom the world of world music wouldn't be complete without Besh o droM.
