MÁV Symphonic Orchestra & Szeged TRombone Ensemble

The MÁV Symphony Orchestra is regarded as one of Hungary’s most prominent official orchestras. Its repertoire ranges from baroque to modern, contemporary music. Its concerts have more than fifty thousand visitors a year, and due to its regular radio and television appearances, it has significantly larger audience.

Program: Roland Szentpáli: Pearls II., Vinicio Meza: Concerto for four trombones and orchestra, Tchaikovsky: Capriccio Italien and F. Loewe: My Fair Lady – Suite. The soloists playing in Vinicio Meza's piece come from Szeged, and their ensemble, the SzegEd TRombone ENsemble, was founded by their college teacher György Gyivicsán.

Huba Hollókői, the conductor of the concert, studied conducting in Finland from the world-famous Jorma Panula. The MÁV Symphony Orchestra has organized several international masterclasses under the direction of Jorma Panula, appointing him permanent coordinator.
